Dastur Energy proposes Blue hydrogen demonstration plant with Coal India

Dastur Energy, a division of M N Dastur, presented a proposal to the coal ministry’s expert committee on hydrogen for the establishment of a blue hydrogen plant with Coal India (CIL). A commercial-scale demonstration plant will be built in the east. M N Dastur has a deal with the US-based Gas Technology Institute (GTR), which has developed a coal-to-hydrogen technology known as blue hydrogen. Dastur is also in talks for coal gasification, methanol derivatives, and carbon dioxide to methanol projects with JSPL and Dalmia Cement Bharat.
