Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) and HHP Five Private Limited (Hygenco) have joined forces to establish a green hydrogen and green ammonia project at TSSEZLs Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP) in Odishas Ganjam district. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities outlines the acquisition of land by Hygenco within GIP for the establishment of its green hydrogen, green ammonia, and derivatives unit. Hygenco, known for its expertise in producing low-cost green hydrogen, plans to initiate production at a capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum (1 Mn TPA) in phases, with the initial phase set to be operational by December 2026.
