500 multimodal hubs under the Gati Shakti plan

The Indian Railways plans to spend Rs 50,000 crore to set up 500 multimodal hubs under the Gati Shakti plan over a period of 4-5 years. The the multi-modal terminals will focus on transporting bulk cargo products like coal, steel, aluminium, etc. These terminals are likely to provide integrated and seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods, and services from one mode of transport to another.
