Zirakpur ring road project

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)

NHAI plans to resume construction on the Zirakpur ring road project. The work had earlier started in 2013, was halted in 2014 as some of the landowners went to court seeking higher compensation. The GMADA has recently transferred around 100 acres of land in this regard. The six-lane ring road would be 200-foot wide, starting from McDonald’s on the Ambala-Zirakpur highway and ending on Sector 20/21 dividing road in Panchkula. The ring road is likely to decongest Zirakpur by providing an alternative route to Shimla-bound traffic from Ambala.
