Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC)
GVMC plans to develop VMRDA Park under the Vizag Smart City project. As part of the project the civic body plans to install a smart solar flower at the VMRDA Park in Vizag. The smart solar flower would be a ground-mounted solar system that follows the sun all day. The smart solar flower would be in the shape of a Sunflower. The power generated through this mechanism will be utilised to operate the lights in play areas and children’s arena at the VMRDA Park. Tendering process is on in this regard. The corporation is further planning to set up three solar trees and six LED benches at the park.
