Bescom to convert overhead lines to underground ones

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom)

The BESCOM has decided to take up the conversion of the cables along with the distribution automation system (DAS) in Indiranagar, Shivajinagar, Koramangala, Whitefield, Hosur Road-Sarjapur Road, and Jayanagar divisions. As part of the plan, Bescom aims to convert 7,250-km overhead electricity lines, including 2,393 km 11 kV high-tension lines. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently cleared a $190 million loan for the project.
