Kochi Corporation
Kochi Corporation is in desperate need of finances, and if the government does not provide financial assistance, several of the local body’s projects may be jeopardised. The local government owes contractors over INR 170 crore, while performing unavoidable projects alone will cost at least INR 100 crore. Among the projects that are likely to be affected include biomining of legacy garbage, which will cost INR 70 crore, and renovations on the corporation’s main office, which will cost at least INR 40 crore.
