The Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari, has declared that four new flyovers will be constructed in the city of Guwahati of Assam state in the near future. This will benefit in terms of easing out traffic congestion. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has taken steps to build these four new flyovers along National Highway-37 in Boragaon, Gorchuk, Lokhra, and Basistha Chariali in the city. Apart from that, a Ring Road will be built to connect the city of Guwahati to various regions. NHAI plans to begin work on 131 projects in the Northeast, with a total cost of Rs. 84193 crore.
