Government of India aims to install 10,000 MW hybrid RE projects

The Government of India aims to install 10,000 MW hybrid renewable power projects in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The Ladakh region has a potential of 30 GW of solar, 5 GW of wind, 2 GW of hydro and 300 MW of geothermal potential. The government agencies are in the process of identifying suitable land. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Ladakh UT administration are identifying land for the renewable energy projects while the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the necessary transmission infrastructure.
