Bids were recently invited by National High Speed Rail Corporation for the building of a 21-km underground tunnel in Maharashtra as part of the Bullet train project. For the 502-km Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train corridor, the tunnel is the largest and most challenging component of civil engineering work. Out of 21-km, a stretch of 7-km long tunnel will be constructed under the sea.
