NTPC-REL collaborates with GACL to develop green ammonia and green methanol projects in Gujarat

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a fully-owned subsidiary of NTPC, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on developing India’s first large-scale green ammonia and green methanol projects. The MoU calls for working together in the areas of renewable energy, green methanol, and green ammonia, as well as exploring opportunities to supply 100 MW of RE-RTC (round-the-clock) power and produce 75 TPD of green methanol and 35 TPD of green ammonia exclusively for GACL’s use in Gujarat’s Vadodara and Dahej complexes, where the company produces a variety of chemicals.
