Second airport work for Chennai to commence by September

The Tamil Nadu government has suggested building an airport in either Pannur, Thiruvallur, or Parandur, Kancheepuram. The Centre has given the go-ahead for the construction of a second airport in Chennai, which will cost a whopping INR 40,000 crore. AAI has been invited to deploy a team to the planned sites to inspect them. The project’s work will begin in early September of this year.
