Delhi Jal Board
The Delhi government’s plan to construct 40 decentralised Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) is a significant initiative aimed at directly tackling the issue of untreated wastewater polluting the Yamuna River. Unlike large, centralized STPs that require extensive and often costly sewage networks to transport wastewater across the city, these decentralised STPs are smaller in scale and are strategically located within or near the communities or sources generating the sewage.
