CMRL has prioritized Coimbatore for metro development. The Tamil Nadu government has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Coimbatore Metro Rail to the Union government. The project, will span 39 km with two lines and 32 stations. Key stations include Ukkadam Bus Stand, Coimbatore Junction, Ram Nagar, Gandhipuram Bus Stand, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore Medical College, and Coimbatore Airport.
