TIDCO plans to upgrade the Kovilpatti airstrip to support Flying Training Organisation (FTO) operations. The project aims to make the existing airstrip suitable for Code 2B aircraft, including the Dornier 228, to address India’s shortage of trained pilots. To advance the initiative, bids have been invited for the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR).
