SAIL has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global resources company BHP to develop strategies for low-emission steel manufacturing technologies. The partnership focuses on decarbonising steel production, particularly through the blast furnace route used in India. Under this agreement, SAIL and BHP are exploring various strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at SAIL’s integrated steel plants. This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing lower-carbon steelmaking solutions.
