PM Modi Inaugurates Solar Parks in Maharashtra for Daytime Power Supply to Farmers

During his visit to Poharadevi in Washim district, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the first five solar parks of a decentralized 16,000 MW solar power generation project aimed at providing daytime electricity for irrigation to farmers. The Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0) is being implemented in line with the central government’s PM Kusum Yojana. Currently, 9,200 MW solar power projects are under development, scheduled for completion in phases by September 2025. The inaugurated projects, located at Dhondalgaon (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Bamni Budruk (Nanded), Haroli (Kolhapur), Jalalabad (Akola), and Palshi Budruk (Buldhana), have a total capacity of 19 MW. Additionally, PM Modi announced the transfer of ?20.55 crore to 411 gram panchayats to aid in solar project development. The tender process for 4,800 MW of solar projects has been completed, with work orders issued, and all 16,000 MW projects are expected to be completed by March 2026, supplying farmers with electricity generated entirely from solar energy.
