NFR considers building a rail line betwe Sairang and Hmawnbuchhuah

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) intends to connect the Myanmar border by rail through Manipur and Mizoram. For the purpose of constructing a new broad gauge railway, the final site survey of the 111 km Imphal-Moreh (near the Myanmar border) segment has already begun. According to the plan, NFR would build a broad gauge line connecting Sairang, close to Aizawl, and Hmawngbuchhuah, in the Lawngtlai district of Mizoram, close to the Myanmar border. The project will probably cost ?15,000 crore.
