Cancer hospital to come up at NISER Jatni

The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Jatni will get a cancer hospital thanks to the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Tata Trusts. A total of Rs 650 crore will be invested to build the hospital. Out of this, DAE will provide Rs 400 crore while the remaining Rs 250 crore will be contributed by the Tata Trusts. Within its campus, NISER has already set aside 17 acres, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will contribute an additional 10 acres. The hospital and related infrastructure will be built by Tata Trusts. The hospital will be handed over to the Central government once it is finished. Within three years, construction is expected to be finished.
