Five public sector enterprises will establish manufacturing facilities to help the nation reach the Center’s goal of having 100 million tonnes (MT) of coal gasification capacity by 2030. Five manufacturing facilities for coal gasification will be set up by Coal India (CIL), BHEL, GAIL, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), and Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC). This would comprise the standalone plants run by these PSUs as well as the joint ventures between BHEL and CIL, and GAIL and IOCL. The factories will manufacture urea, methanol, ammonia, and ammonium nitrate. The ministry of coal has suggested a production-linked incentive (PLI) plan for ammonium nitrate, which is mostly used by the fertiliser industry.
