According to a research published by REN21 titled ‘Renewable Energy 2022: Global Status Report’, India placed third in renewable energy installations in 2021, behind China and Russia. In 2021, India installed 15.4 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy installations. Despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, renewables had a record year in terms of investment and installation, according to the report. Renewable power capacity additions increased by 17 percent globally in 2021, totaling more than 314 GW.
