The 15 km long Agartala-Akhaura railway link would run from Akhaura, Bangladesh, to Nischintapur, India, where there is an international immigration station. The Agartala-Akhaura project was proceeding according to schedule on both fronts. For the Akhaura project, the station and line construction was almost completed. By December 2022, the Agartala-Akhaura railway project will be operational.
