Solar power generation increases by 34 per cent in the first half of CY2022

In the first half (H1) of the calendar year 2022, India produced 47.64 BU of solar energy, a 34% increase over the same period in the previous year. Since H1 2017, when it reached 9.69 billion units, solar generation has increased. The additional capacity additions that were made in the first half of the year may be the reason for the rise in solar energy production. Over 3 GW of solar capacity was added in India in Q1 2022, a YoY increase of 50% from the 2 GW installed during the same period in 2021.
