The Kolhapur airport is undergoing renovations by the Airports Authority of India to increase its capability for handling passengers. The development project entails creating a new terminal structure, strengthening and extending the current runway, as well as constructing a new apron and isolation bay. The UDAN scheme has designated Kolhapur Airport for RCS flights. It is currently connected to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Tirupati. On a 4000 sqm site, a new terminal building is being built that will have a peak capacity of 300 passengers. The Terminal will have all current passenger amenities and ten check-in counters.
