NTPC registers 21.7 per cent growth in generation in Qtr1 of FY 23
In the first quarter of 2022, which ran from April to June, the NTPC group generated 104.4 BU, up 21.7 percent from the 85.8 BU generated in the same quarter of the previous year. The generation for the month of June in the year 22 was 34.8 BU, up 29.3% from 26.9 BU in June of the previous year, demonstrating increased performance and a rise in the demand for electricity. The best-performing thermal power plant between April and June 2022 is the NTPC Talcher Kaniha (3000 MW) in Orissa, with a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 94.2 percent. In comparison to the same period last year, the overall Plant Load Factor of NTPC Coal Stations was 79.9% from April to June 2022, which attests to the company’s strong standards of operational excellence and power plant operation and maintenance know-how. In new commercial sectors including green hydrogen, waste-to-energy, and e-mobility, NTPC is growing its presence. The largest power producer in India wants to reduce net energy intensity by 10% by 2032. As part of the UN High-Level Dialogue on Energy (HLDE), NTPC has become the first energy firm in India to announce its energy compact targets. In addition to electricity generation, NTPC has expanded into the production of energy from cleaner and more environmentally friendly sources, including hydro, wind, solar, and Green Hydrogen solutions. The power industry leader has also entered a number of commercial sectors, including waste-to-energy, e-mobility, and fuel cells.
