PM lays foundation stone for six projects worth Rs 28000 crore in Tamil Nadu

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for six projects worth more than Rs. 28,540 crore. The 262-kilometer Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway will cost about Rs. 14,870 crore to construct.It will cut travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai by 2-3 hours by passing via the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. The 4 lane double decker elevated road from Chennai Port to Maduravoyal (NH-4) will be built at a cost of around Rs 5850 crore and would be about 21 kilometers long. The 94-kilometer-long four-lane NH-844 section from Neraluru to Dharmapuri and the 31-kilometer-long two-lane with paved shoulders Meensurutti to Chidambaram section of NH-227, both being built at a cost of around Rs 3870 crore and Rs 720 crore, respectively, will help provide seamless connectivity in the region. It will make it easier for freight vehicles to access the Chennai port 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
