The Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said at a virtual event hosted by CII that the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan has identified 101 projects to improve port connectivity with consumption & production centres. 111 waterways had been classified as national waterways across 24 states. PM Modi unveiled a Rs 100 lakh crore national master plan for multi-modal connectivity on October 13 in order to expand infrastructure and lower logistics costs. Under Sagarmala project, the financial assistance are provided to the state government for port infrastructure development.
