Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL) began as a joint venture (JV) between CSL and Hooghly Dock & Port Engineers Limited (HDPEL) in Kolkata, and with the consent of the Union Cabinet, HCSL became a wholly owned subsidiary of CSL on November 1, 2019. HCSL plans to create a variety of vessels, including Ro-Ro vessels, River-Sea Cargo Vessels for bulk, liquids, and containers, Passenger Vessels, and other inland waterway watercraft. This project has a total investment of Rs.168 crores. The facility is up and running right now.
