A new 30 MLD sewage treatment plant is being constructed at Sector-14, Rourkela Steel Plant’s industrial township, Odisha, at a cost of ?96.63 crore. The facility, using Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology, will replace the existing oxidation pond-based treatment system. Aimed at reducing pollution in the Koel River, the project is progressing swiftly, with completion and operationalization expected by May this year.
