MGMMCH’s Long-Awaited OPD Facility to Partially Open in Three Weeks

The much-anticipated outdoor patients department (OPD) of the state-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital (MGMMCH) in Jamshedpur is set to partially open in the next three weeks. The hospital, with a capacity of 751 beds—including 131 ICU beds, over 120 emergency beds, and 500 general ward beds—is being constructed at an estimated cost of ?386 crore. The G+7 structure, whose foundation was laid in February 2019, was initially slated for completion in November 2022. However, after several delays, full operation is now expected by the end of this year.
