GMDC and GUVNL Partner to Develop Coal and Lignite Power Stations in Gujarat

State-owned Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has announced a strategic collaboration with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) to jointly develop coal and lignite-based power stations in Gujarat. This partnership aims to bolster the state’s energy security by leveraging the sustainable utilization of local coal and lignite resources. GMDC, renowned for its expertise in mining and mineral exploration, will bring its extensive knowledge of coal and lignite extraction to the venture. Meanwhile, GUVNL, the state’s utility leader in power generation and distribution, will provide essential infrastructure and operational capabilities in the energy sector.
