India's Steel Sector Surpasses 161 Million Tonnes, Eyes Ambitious 300 MT by 2030

At the 4th Indian Steel Association (ISA) Steel Conclave, the Steel Secretary highlighted India’s steel industry’s remarkable achievement, surpassing a capacity of 161 million tonnes. The sector’s growth spans various routes, including 67 MT via blast furnace-basic oxygen furnace (BF-BoF), 36 MT through electric arc furnaces (EAF), and 58 MT by induction furnaces (IF). With a target to achieve 300 MT capacity by 2030, India’s steel industry remains on a trajectory of continuous expansion.
