The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has been incorporated since 2016 to manage the High Speed Rail Corridor in India. NHRSCL is implementing India’s first bullet train project – Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. According to India’s Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, all civil and track work contracts for the 352-kilometer length of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project on the Gujarat side were awarded. Larsen and Toubro (L&T) received a track contract worth INR 31.4 billion. The work on the 508-kilometer bullet train project in Gujarat has already begun .The project is progressing on schedule with the help of cutting-edge technology. The construction is likely to be completed by 2027. NHSRCL is progressing with 5-km piers currently and expects to ramp it up to 10-km piers soon. The work on the Maharashtra side is on hold due to land acquisition issues.
